Lithium-ion Battery

The lithium-ion battery is currently the most common energy storage in electric cars.

It consists of several individual cells, each with a cathode made of lithium metal oxide, an anode made of graphite, an electrolyte solution and a separator that prevents short circuits.

The advantages of lithium-ion batteries are a comparatively long service life (high number of charging cycles), high energy density and low weight.
