Elektromobilitätsgesetz (German Electric Mobility Act)

The Electric Mobility Act (EmoG) came into force in June 2016 and is in effect until June 2030.

The law aims to encourage the proliferation of electric cars by creating possibilities to prioritise electric vehicles in road traffic.

Cities and municipalities can reserve parking space for electric cars in public spaces, reduce or waive parking fees, allow driving in bus lanes and remove certain access restrictions.
